Leadership at The Harbor at Renaissance of Greene County Completes Teepa Snow’s ‘The Journey of Dementia’ Expert Training
STANARDSVILLE, Va. (December 19, 2017) – The Harbor at Renaissance of Greene County’s leadership team attended “The Journey of Dementia” seminar on Nov. 28, taught by world renowned dementia and Alzheimer’s care expert Teepa Snow.
The seminar focused on understanding the progression of dementia. Snow talked about how to modify, support and create an environment to promote the best care. The seminar equipped leaders at The Harbor, a premier memory care center serving the Charlottesville, VA and Harrisonburg, VA region, to better understand and relate to those who suffer through the storms of dementia.
“We often think we understand what people with Alzheimer’s and dementia experience, but hearing from Teepa Snow was an eye-opening experience. This seminar helped better portray what they experience day to day. I’m excited for my team at The Harbor to better understand what our residents go through each and every day,” Beth Murphy, resident services director of The Harbor at Renaissance, said.
“Our mission is to provide premium care to each of our residents who suffer dementia and Alzheimer’s. I’m thankful we had the opportunity to hear from an expert and can take this information and apply it to our lives as we care for the greatest generation,” Amber Ralls, executive director of The Harbor at Renaissance, said.
